About Olde Common Scents Alyssa

O.C.S. was established in 2006, but “dreamed up” when I was about 14 years of age. I have always loved making and creating. My first candle making experience happened when I was 14. I created votive candles in my mother’s kitchen. When I was through with the wax, I dumped it down her kitchen sink. Needless to say, food processor parts, water, and kitchen drains do not mix well with wax!

Years have passed, and I have perfected my candle craft and designing in my small workshop. My interests have been a blend of primitive and cottage design. I am a New Englander and strive to pass the essence of the traditional New England farms, stonewalls, antique gardens, north woods, and the rocky Atlantic coastline into my fresh, soy wax candles and other products.

I believe that with passion, planning, and perseverance you can achieve great things!
